Noch einmal Shapeways

Beitrag von Bodo-Lutz »

Liebe Bastelgemeinde,

After taking a closer look, we cannot print part of your customer's order, placed on ... by ....
We've credited your Shapeways customer for this.
While we've been able to print this model before, as we continue to produce the model we've noticed that it does not print successfully.
Despite our best efforts we've only been able to successfully print this model 88% of the time. To continue printing this model we need your help to resolve these issues:
• Reason: Weak Geometry
Description: This model is no longer printable under our new printability guidelines.

Due to our recent change in pricing, in which a cost per part is applied, sprues are considered part of the model. Since this model consistently "separates" or breaks during production, we cannot continue to print it. This model needs to be improved with stronger geometry, so that it doesn't "separate" in production, or you may re-upload it as separate parts, if your intention is for the model to separate (ie/ if you are using sprues). Please be aware the price will be updated accordingly.

Sprued parts are likely to break in our process causing production delays and potentially preventing your product from moving out of First to Try. For this reason we strongly recommend using the alternate methods described in the following tutorial (link to: https://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/des ... -sls-nylon) instead whenever possible. We do not recommend using the "Print it Anyway" function as there is no guarantee that you will be shipped all your parts if they separate. Remember that checking "PIA" grants us the ability to ship incomplete and broken parts, and this may not ultimately be the outcome you want long term.

Sprueing your parts presents some unique challenges at quality checking for our manufacturing teams. For particularly complex geometries, it is difficult to ensure your sprued structure is completely intact with all of its parts before we ship it. If you must use sprues, use them sparingly, use 2mm thick wires, solid connections, and attach every part in a least two places. Please refer to the Material Guidelines for additional tips.
Find additional information in the attached image.
Want to experiment and learn from the design of your model? Order your model (on the edit model page) through the Print It Anyway Pilot
We want you to be successful, so we encourage you to:
• Fix and update your design. This will ensure that you can continue to sell your product.
• Let your customer know you're fixing the issue by sending them a message.
Your continued satisfaction is our top priority. If you have questions, or if we can improve your Shapeways experience in any way possible, please email us at: service@shapeways.com

Für alle, die morgen oder übermorgen in Schwerin sein werden, könnte das Thema dort zur Diskussion stehen.

(Trotzden) liebe Grüße
